How Basketball Changed History!
Old Basketball Ad.
Basketball changed history in so many ways! Some ways are how they got people out of the house and with the social life. They got people off the street of doing drugs and helped get people active. When the first basketball games and when the first basketball stars in 1920 got people very interested in the sport of basketball. If James Naismath was alive, he would probably be a multi-billionare with the popularity of basketball. Some of the national major basketball events that happen is NBA Finals, NBA Playoffs, and March Madness. They even give out major money for some of these events. Basketball got really big in the 1890's and early 1900's. People started going to the early NBA games in about 1920's when the early stars of the game came to the game.
But in 1898 the first college basketball game was played! When basketball was invented in 1891 the game became a hit 7 years later when college ball was invented. Lots of people started going to games and started playing the game.
NBA made history back in 1950 when the color barrier was broke when Chuck Cooper was drafted and played in 1950. People were very racial about the color barrier being broke. If it wasn't for Chuck Cooper's commitment and courage, we wouldn't have had the star players around today like Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, Kevin Garrant, Lebron James, Micheal Jordan, or Magic Johnson!
